MP Consulting & Management Inc. provides simple answers to complex situations. We are a company that delivers expert construction services customized to meet the diverse needs of our client base.
MPCM was tasked with this project in 2018 by our very first client. To date, it is one of the larger projects that we have been a part of, and is a testament to our quality of work even in the company’s early days. The engineer and owner had struggled to find a contractor for this project due to the area. Sutton is quite far North, and no one was willing or able to make the journey. MPCM took on this task despite the difficulties, knowing how much it meant to the owner. With the looming winter temperatures, we were able to complete the project under an extremely tight deadline. The engineer, owner, and Town were extremely satisfied with the work proceedings and the overall finished product, setting a precedent for MPCM’s reputation moving forward.
MPCM completed the following scopes of work:
MPCM was tasked with this project in our early days, and it was one of the first large-scale jobs undertaken by the company. Work at the site began in spring of 2020 on behalf of a developer with whom MPCM has had a long-standing working relationship.
The project had sat untouched for many years due to the large size and numerous site issues that needed to be rectified. This caused problems for the owner and Town alike. The owner was not able to recoup their securities deposit, while the Town was left with an unassumed subdivision. MPCM was called in to complete the entire deficiency list, which no one had yet proposed to do. The engineer, owner, and Town were satisfied with the work proceedings and the overall finished product.
MPCM completed the following scopes of work:
MPCM was originally tasked with this project in the summer of 2021. The job consisted of offsite removal of a material stockpile impacting lots needed by the Owner for future development. The material was suitable only for transportation to a registered landfill site and not a regular dumpsite, creating a difficult situation. Although competitor pricing was exorbitantly high as a result of this, MPCM was able to utilize our experience and expertise to maximize efficiency for the client. As such, we were awarded the contract.
After the completion of this project, a time-sensitive issue presented itself at the eleventh hour. In order to satisfy their agreements with the Town, the Owner needed to stabilize (by way of terraseeding) their unused future lots within the next 48 hours or face financial penalties. The Owner and Engineer approached MPCM with the seemingly impossible task of getting this done under such a tight deadline. Due to the time of year, all of the contractors who could complete this project declined, citing labour constraints and commitments to other projects. Undeterred, MPCM was able to complete this project by the very next morning. We stabilized just under 16,000 square meters of near-inaccessible land. Further, we were able to do so on time and under budget. Both the Owner and the Town were incredibly impressed with the quick turnaround and the final results.
MPCM took on this project in summer 2021. Although smaller in scope, the project was deemed necessary by both the client and the Town of Sharon, Ontario. A large depression and uneven-sloped boulevard posed a high risk of damage to the newly-installed curb. Water was rushing down the slope and pooling behind the curb, undermining its structural integrity.
MPCM was brought in to give constructability input on this project prior to its commencement. During our review, we were able to identify another local developer who was looking to eliminate excess soil from their site. We were able to use this soil as part of our stabilization plan. To eliminate the depression, we imported topsoil to the site and graded the entire boulevard. We also directed the excess water to catch basins positioned at street corners. Lastly, we used terraseeding - a process whereby a large truck uses blowers to spray a mixture of dry topsoil mixed with grass seed onto any surface. The grass grew perfectly leading up to the winter months, providing the necessary stability.. Both the client and the Town were satisfied with the quality of the work, and how quickly MPCM was able to mobilize and complete the project.
In the summer of 2021, MPCM was tasked with a smaller-scale project consisting of the installation of black siltation control fencing around the perimeter of one site, and the removal of very old siltation control fencing on an adjacent site. The removal portion of the project had to be done by hand, and the developer and engineer could not find someone to complete the job on such short notice. The owner needed this project to commence as soon as possible and once again, MPCM was the solution.
The site conditions resulted in a significant increase in scope of the project. As a result, MPCM was further tasked with the construction of a water retention berm complete with rock spillways. Essentially, we constructed a barrier that would trap excess sediment carried by water, and prevent it from breaching the site limits. MPCM devised this solution in order to prevent damage to the creek and wetlands adjacent to the site. MPCM also took on the repair of a major hillside erosion and nature trail washout from a previous rainfall event.
Under different circumstances, this project would have required schedule coordination between numerous small companies, ultimately delaying its completion. However, MPCM was the one-call solution needed to bring all contractors together under one company, and get the job done.
